The system administrator is responsible for properly maintaining, configuring, and supporting our clients’ computer systems and servers. They install hardware and software, participate in projects and additional development tasks, and work to continuously improve our clients’ system performance.
Key Responsibilities Of The IT Systems Administrator For Our DC Consulting Company
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems which may be Windows/Linux OS, or client/server-based systems
- Plan and monitor the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization and perform systems capacity analysis and planning
- Plan and monitor assistance to users in accessing and using business systems
- Regular maintenance of Microsoft Based servers including 2008 and 2012s, 2019 servers
- Perform general desktop maintenance like virus scanning, defragmentation etc. in Windows 7, 8 & 10 environment
- Occasional setup and maintenance of Hardware-based Firewall and VPN
- Answering support related emails and phone calls for clients
- Setting up Software and hardware deployment
- Setting up Email Hosting (Gmail, Microsoft 365)
- Email Migration
Required Skills & Knowledge For Our IT Systems Administrators
Soft Skills:
- Speak and write in English fluently
- Problem-solving
- Great work ethic
- Flexible with evolving needs in system administration
- Self-starter with minimal oversight
System Administration:
- Good knowledge of managing and working in Microsoft Server environments including MS Server 2008 and 2012, 2019
- Able to deploy and maintain Active Directory, DNS and DHCP servers, Azure/AWS
- Working knowledge of Backups, Firewalls, and VPN (direct experience considered a plus)
Qualifications Required For The IT Systems Administrator
- Diploma/BE in Computers or related technical field (may consider equivalent Bachelor’s degree in other streams)
- Server Migration Basic Requirements/Qualification
- MCP and/or MCSA/MCSE certified considered a plus
